We are exploring how dual energy computed tomography (DECT) imaging can improve the diagnosis and risk stratification of patients with PE. This work is a collaboration Dr. Mannudeep Kalra of MGH Radiology. Together, we are leveraging the ability of DECT to image not only the vascular occlusion, but also the downstream perfusion deficits caused by an acute PE. With this technology we hope to better understand the physiologic changes associated with PE and use those to identify high risk patients who might benefit from early intervention.
